Lunch at Foyer de la Madeleine

In our quest for all cheap good eats in Paris, we discovered that at Foyer de la Madeleine, volunteers of the church serve lunch everyday.

My favorite thing about Paris is the blue sky as a background to magnificent statues and buildings.

For €13 each (€8, if you’re a member), you get an appetizer, a main course and a dessert. After paying for our meal, we were escorted to the dining hall and were allowed to choose our table.

Since we were not locals, they had to find an English speaking volunteer. A nice man was assigned as our server. It was, however, his first day as volunteer and didn’t know his way around. But he was very accommodating.

Almost all the servers at the Foyer were ladies. Here they are busily working at the kitchen.
